We developed an NFC card encoder device for DUSAW, a leading smart lock provider. The goal was to create a device that could securely communicate with DUSAW’s system and read/write lock cards without requiring installation or modifications to existing property management systems.

We were responsible for:

  • Selecting and integrating components with NFC read/write capabilities
  • Developing firmware for seamless communication with a remote server
  • Establishing API communication for real-time data exchange
  • Implementing secure read/write functionality for lock cards
  • Conducting rigorous unit and integration testing to ensure reliability
  • Delivering full documentation for ease of use by clients

Process & Challenges

  • Ensuring encrypted communication between the device and DUSAW server to protect access credentials
  • Designing a secure read/write process to prevent card corruption or failed operations
  • Integrating with physical Lock APIs to fetch sector data and encode keycards dynamically
  • Optimizing performance on a hardware-limited device while maintaining real-time responsiveness
